Home Theater: 4 More Ugly Secrets Revealed

Filed under: Product Info — @ 1:49 pm

Secret #4: EVEN IF YOU GET A DEAL ON THE TV FOR YOUR HOME THEATER, THEY WILL HOSE YOU ON THE STAND. MOST ARE WAY OVERPRICED!

What you should do about it:

Shop around. Find one that isn’t the one that is designed to put more money into the dealer’s pants. Look off brand (not the same manufacturer as the TV.)

This obviously assumes you are looking at a Hi-Def TV that goes on a wall, or more likely, on a stand. Big CRT rear screen projectors are all in one box.

You want something that brings the set to seated eye level. Stand in front of a TV and move up and down and side to side. The picture will change some. Try to approximate the angle you’ll sit and see how it looks to you.

Don’t forget you can also shop at a furniture store.

Stands are usually overpriced.

Secret #5: IF YOU BUY A PLASMA OR OTHER “HANG ON THE WALL” SET, YOU STILL HAVE WIRES THAT WILL DANGLE UNLESS YOU RUN THEM IN THE WALL.

The ads all show the screen, but not the wire. At minimum you have power and signal wires (cable or satellite). By the way, these babies are heavy. It’s not at all like hanging a picture.

What you should do about it:

Plan ahead.

Secret #6: IF YOU SEE A TV THAT SAYS “…READY” THAT MEANS IT DOESN’T HAVE A TUNER. YOU NEED A TUNER. THEY WILL SELL YOU A SEPARATE TUNER. YOU ARE BUYING A MONITOR.

Monitors don’t have tuners. Since so many sets were being sold in a way that may be politely called MISLEADING, somebody changed the regulations - now it has to be disclosed. The picture may not suck, but just know a monitor should be a lot cheaper than a true complete TV.

What you should do about it:

Just know this. It can save you money and SHOULD.

Secret #7: SOME PLASMAS AND LCD DIRECT VIEWS LOOK LIKE HI-DEF BUT AREN’T.

The PICTURES don’t look like High Definition because they aren’t. The screens, when OFF, look the same. What they ARE are wide screen EDTVs - Enhanced Definition - better than old analog sets but not HIGH Definition.

What you should do about it:

IF YOU WANT HDTV, Pass.

These sets were put out into the market as bait. Often thousands less than the original run of HDTVs, their pictures were better than you had been used to, but can’t stun you like true HDTV can.

There. Now you know 4 more Ugly Home Theater secrets.

But, it isn’t quite that simple. At www.GreatHomeTheater.com there are more secrets revealed. I promise you won’t get neurotic or your hands dirty, and I won’t talk you out of what can be a tremendous and highly enjoyable leap forward in home entertainment.

Bob Wood, for over 30 years, served in front of, and behind the microphone, at popular radio stations across the United States and Canada. Throughout that journey he developed a passion for great sound and was an early adopter of many of the video toys and tools that have evolved into today’s state of the art.

Bob also became known as a voice-actor at that time, leading him to literally hundreds of recording studios where again he would work with top equipment. In the mid 80s, he was able to examine and demo the early high definition broadcast quality equipment out of Japan.

Free Tree Offer…..Plumstead Township Residents

Filed under: Hall Of Recreation — @ 10:59 am

Name That Tree

I’m native to the European Alps, you know, where the great discovery of Otzi, the 5,300-year old man was made in 1991, and also the Balkan mountains, as well as the Carpathians near the Black Sea. My normal range extends north to the country which gives me my name and I merge with the “obovata” specie of my genus in northern Russia. Introduced to the British Isles as early as 1500 AD, I am now widely planted in North America, particularly in the northeastern United States.

I have quite a range if I say so myself: I grow well in in southern Canada from Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia all the way across to Vancouver Island. In America, I grow well in the Pacific Coast states, and in the Rocky Mountains. I’m in naturalized populations from Connecticut to Michigan and where altitude makes it cool for me, I’ll grow in the mountains of the Appalachians as far south as Georgia as well as New Mexico and Arizona’s northern mountains.

I grow with fir trees, or with hickory and oak trees, as well as maple, beech and birch trees, or aspen and birch trees. I grow quickly, especially when I’m young, the fastest of any of the trees in my taxonomic family.

My record height was in The Olympic National Park of Washington State at 143 feet, but my normal mature height in the area of http://www.highlandhillfarm.com southeastern Pennsylvania is 80 to 100 feet. My form or profile shape is conical with horizontal to upward sweeping branches that often droop small branchlets (”Profeeele” as Jackie Gleason’s best friend Ed Norton used to say on the classic TV comedy which ran from 1952-1969 constantly repeating the same 39 episodes). My drooping pendulous branchlets make a uniquely attractive sort of skirt, hanging straight down as much as several feet in length, especially on my upper limbs. This is a rare feature very few trees can say they have. Leaves on my branches are stiff, 1/2 to 1 inch long, 4-angled but somewhat flattened, with a sharp pointed tip, shiny deep green and a mere sixteenth of an inch in diameter. Each one is borne on a raised, woody peg (sterigma). Diameter, you ask? Are my leaves the needles of an evergreen tree?

My flowers are monoecious; males are yellow-brown in large groups with my females upright, and purple-colored.

My fruits are very large, almost cylindrical cone-shapes, 4 to 6 inches long, with stiff, thin scales that are irregularly toothed, chestnut brown, maturing in fall.

My branches have twigs which are slender to medium in size, lacking “hair,” tree fur, with a shiny orangish red-brown surface. The leaves or needles are borne on woody pegs with buds that are very loose. The orange-brown scales resemble a rose. As my twigs develop into full branches my bark progresses from the orange red-brown into darker and darker shades eventually becoming a flaking scaly gray with plates as much as a few inches in area that can fall off. Just like people all continually lose their outer later of skin, you could say I too “exfoliate.” Soil requirements I make are rather liberal. I prefer moist, well-drained, acidic sort of soil which can be loamy to sandy. But I’ll grow well in dry, rocky, even claylike (argillaceous, you could say and impress your friends) ground too. I grow most anywhere, just check my range again, as I described above. Okay, so I won’t grow in the desert. Or in a swamp, on the other side of the coin, the other end of the spectrum I WILL DIE if the ground is overly WET. I like rain. You see, we trees can like water, enjoying lotsa rain, while NOT wanting soil that stays wet. There is a difference for us there. Please note, I am ESPECIALLY drought tolerant. You don’t have to worry about watering me. Partial shade is okay, even if I do prefer full sun. I’ll grow happily in hardiness zones 3 through 7, where the coldest temperatures can get as low as 40 degrees BELOW Zero, or relatively mild winter lows get down to just 10 degree above zero, like in Virginia or Kentucky. For Bucks County, in southeastern Pennsylvania, my temperature preferences are positively perfect (How’s that for a little alliteration? See, I’m a pretty smart tree too.) Insects and diseases generally don’t bother me. Only Cooley Spruce Gall Aphids will get me and mess up my flowers, my cones, and the spider mites which bother other trees can affect me too. Yet, these two troublemakers don’t come near to killing me. I’m relatively inexpensive to purchase as compared to imported fruit trees. I make a great landscaping tree, I’m proud to say I’m ornamental, and make a great windbreak or snowbreak along walkways and driveways. So, whaddya say? Ya got enough information fer sure. What tree am I? If you think you know go to my web site at http://www.seedlingsrus.com and get my email address. Email me the answer and when you come to our farm I will give you a free on. We have 500 these trees to give out by Feb. 27th 2006. (Residents of Plumstead Township will get a free tree even if they guess wrong.)

Your Global Property Market Place: Assisted by The PropertyIndex.com Company

In spite of the fact that the Property Index service must be rated a rather young organization, (they were established in March 2007), they were swift to gain in reputation. On closer scrutiny, they are a incredibly hassle free organization entirely concentrated on advising any person meaning to buy, sell, rent or let property across the globe. Their guarantee: to assist you light on dead-on what’s called for very swiftly and, of course, in a trouble-free manner.

Land can be found across the world presently, undoubtedly the hippest area being land for sale in Italy. It should be no big challenge to chart the fantastic properties available in Italy, one rationale for choosing property here being the houses and apartments on the market and the fabulous chance to live amongst such a optimistic population. This is one of the truly sought after regions presently, and in view of the beauty and the agreeable climate that surrounds you all day long, how could you ever be wrong. Land in Italy is steeped in history, this country has a long tradition as a home to more than a few sophisticated cultures.

Property Index sell a range of villas and apartments, take a look at their site if you are looking for overseas property investment, click here to view the properties.

Around 25 or 30 years ago there’d be merely a dribble of Britons who are looking for properties in Italy. Ask everyone who has chosen to relocate to Italy and they will be certain to substantiate this. There’s many people who would term it a rage and others term it a virtually a compulsion… Buyers that will relocate to this place extend from yuppies keen on a bit of a new challenge in life to older generations who want to rest. Note that there could well be unmanageables when buying properties in a foreign market; you’ll have to cope with 100s of actions to come to terms with whether scheduling, visiting or finalizing the deal. If you miss out on one single minute procedure this is liable to engender insurmountable unmanageables plus, even more important, money loss.

As you’re sure to assume with this sought after destination, properties could well be expensive in this destination which is, of course, merely owing to the high market pressure. However, the patron is truly a bit spoiled in such a location so determined by vivacious environment. It truly has just about all a buyer may conceivably relish and plenty more.

How to Rebuild a Bad Credit Rating, Part Three

There are ways to repair and rebuild your credit and put the past behind you. Here’s how:

Face the Music

Get a copy of your credit report, preferably from all three of the major credit reporting agencies. You’ll need all three to find out what each is reporting and to learn where you need to make corrections or improvements.

Know the Ground Rules

You’ll no doubt find information on your report that you think is inaccurate or incomplete. Here are some common areas of concern:

Collection Accounts: In most cases, lenders must charge off delinquent accounts after 180 days of nonpayment, but some do so sooner. After it is charged off (written off the lender’s books as bad debt), it may be placed for collection. When that happens, you’ll find two marks on your credit report: the listing from the original lender showing that the account has been charged off, and the other remark showing a collection account. But if you don’t pay one collection agency and they pass it on to another agency, you should not see duplicate listings from different collection agencies for the same account. Only the most recent one should be listed, so feel free to dispute duplicates.

Ex-spouse’s Debts: If you’re divorced, you may think you’re off the hook for any debts of your ex-spouse, but don’t be so sure. Any joint accounts you held together will be reported to the credit bureaus in both your nameseven if they’ve been assigned to your ex in the divorce decree. The divorce decree does not erase the original agreement with the lender. Any accounts you never held with your ex, however, should not be reported on your credit file.

Paid Accounts: Many people erroneously think that once an account is paid it is removed from your credit report. Not true. Negative accounts can generally be reported for seven years.

Missing Accounts: There’s no law requiring lenders to report information to credit bureaus, so you may find that not all your accountsgasoline credit cards or personal loans with local lenders, for exampleappear on your report. While you can ask the credit bureaus to add those accounts, they don’t usually accommodate those types of requests. They want to have a business agreement with a company before they will accept sensitive consumer credit information.

Medical Bills: Just because you think your insurance company should have paid a medical bill doesn’t mean you are immune from collection activity. The provider of the medical services can collect from you if the insurance company doesn’t pay, and may send it to collections. The collection company isn’t required to get the insurance company to pay either; that’s your job. In the meantime, if you don’t pay the bill yourself, the collection account on your credit report may hurt you for seven years. Some creditors will ignore medical collection accounts if they can correctly be identified as such.

Handy Tips On Growing Pine Trees

Filed under: Hall Of Recreation — @ 6:11 pm

Planting White Pine Trees White pines. Whenever I think of white pines, I remember hunting when I was a kid and standing near trees that were giants. Now every pine tree I plant, I can invision those days in the deep woods and those grand trees and hope someone else will have that same enjoyment. These trees will help you too in establish a desired vision to your landscape.

Beyond their size, white pines also fill important ecological niches. They grow across broad ranges of forest and urban conditions, finding much of North America to their liking.

White Pine trees need protection from deer, disease, insects, and competing weeds and shrubs. The better your weed control the better your trees will grow. When seedlings are planted, it best to plant them with large spacings to allow more light to the plant. If these trees are planted in shade, they tend to be more open. White pines are used around new construction because they perform in a wide range of soil conditions. If you have compacted soil from new construction, we suggest smaller trees of 3-5′ height.

All people handling seedlings and small trees need to help with the life support of your plants. Seedlings are like fish out of water and need care which is often overlooked between the time the seedlings are lifted and transplanted. Improper care means higher mortality. Do not try and reinvent the wheel. You must protect seedling from moisture and temperature extremes, as well as physical damage. Seedlings are living and should be handled carefully. For a higher survival rate, treat trees carefully and plant them immediately. I like to have a backup plan for planting if the weather turns bad. I will sometimes switch from lining out the seedlings to potting them up if I realize that the soil conditions will not be right for an extended lenght of time. If planting must be delayed a few days, keep the plants in a cold, protected place with air circulation between the trees. Keep the trees out of the rain and wind. To check if the trees need water, feel the media at the roots.. If it isn’t damp, water the trees and allow the excess water to drain. In cool, damp weather, the biggest threat to these trees is from mold. Try to keep out of soil seedlings moist by either restricting water loss with a water vapor barrier or by wetting the roots at regular intervals. While handling or planting try to reduce temperature and air movement around the seedlings. Windy days can dry out seedlings so consider waiting for calmer weather. Once your soil conditions are correct OUR FREE USE PLANTERS will make planting a snap so its will be worth waiting for good planting conditions.

HOW TO PLANT

Ideal planting days are cool and cloudy with little or no wind. If possible, avoid planting on warm, windy days. The soil should be moist not wet. Care in planting is more important than speed. Make sure the roots are never allowed to become dry. Bare root seedlings should be carried in a waterproof bag or bucket with plenty of moist material packed around the roots to keep them damp. Ideally, bare root boxes should be kept refrigerated or packed in ice or snow. Don’t freeze the trees. Competition from weeds, grass, brush or other trees is very detrimental to survival and growth of seedlings. Choose areas free from this competition or clear at least a three-foot square bare spot before planting. Seedlings should not be planted under the crown of existing trees, or closer than 6 feet to existing brush. Avoid areas near walnut trees. Brush aside loose organic material such as leaves, grass, etc., from the planting spot to expose mineral soil. If organic matter gets into the planting hole, it can decompose and leave air spaces. Roots will dry out when they grow into these spaces. Open up the hole, making sure the hole is deep enough for the roots to be fully extended. If roots are curled or bunched up, the tree will not be able to take up water correctly, will often weaken and die, or may blow down later due to poor root structure. Take a tree out of your planting bag or bucket only after a hole is ready. When exposed, the fine roots can dry out in as little as 30 seconds. Seedling shoots and roots lose water to air, roots require more protecting.Unlike leaves ,they do not have stomata (closeable openings on the surface of the leaves) or any waxy coatings to help reduce water loss. If the roots apear dry they are probably dead. Now I know you are thinking,”I will place them in a buckect of water and store them there until planting”. This will not work. Submerge plants for no longer that a couple of minutes. Placing them in water cuts them off from oxygen. Remember to remove the container before planting a containerized tree. A helpful hint to all those new gardeners just starting is to remember to always plant green side up. Hold the seedling in place in the hole, making sure the roots are straight, fully extended and that the tree is neither too shallow or too deep in the hole. Fill hole, allowing soil to fall in around the roots. Tamp with hands or with your heel. Don’t crush the roots by jumping up and down around the seedling like there is a snake curled up around the seedling. It is delicate. Fill with more soil, if necessary, and tamp. Tamping is important. If soil is not firmly packed around the roots, there will be air pockets that can dry out the roots, and the seedlings may be weakly anchored. It is far easier to plant the tree strait up then have the tree leaning and have to adjust the tree later. (Addition of fertilizer and plant vitamins at the time of planting is not generally necessary.) Take your time in planting. Proper spacing will help you grow a more valuable crop. I have tried to get more production from a limited area by over planting and then thinning, but I always have had trouble in harvesting …. digging is slower and poor quality usually results for a portion of the crop. Avoid these tree planting errors:

Tangled roots Planting too shallow Planting too deep Air pockets Turned up roots (this is called J rooting) Planting trees that are not tolerant of wet soils in poorly drained areas Planting over rocks, septic tanks and leach fields, on sand mounds

CARE OF TREES FOLLOWING PLANTING Check periodically to be sure that brush, grass and other vegetation is kept under control by mowing, mulching, spraying or a combination of these treatments. Always obtain advice from a licensed pest control advisor before using chemicals. You ag extension agency may offer courses in application of chemicals. Monitoring the appearance of your trees will help you to detect signs of insects, diseases or other problems. Apperances also help sell your product. Look for foliage turning yellow, new foliage drooping or other signs of poor health. It is easier to take successful corrective action if the problem is detected early.

Over watering is a common problem in irrigated plantations. You probably won’t need to water more frequently than every 7-10 days. Give your trees a thorough, deep soak and then let the soil dry out before the next watering. This encourages the roots to grow down in search of water. Frequent, shallow watering encourages root growth near the surface and the trees are more dependent on irrigation and are less windfirm. Animals can be a major cause of damage to young trees. Porcupines, gophers, mice, rabbits, deer and cattle are the most frequent source of damage. In many states you may have to call your game commission and get their recomendations on legal methods to protect your crop. In our state, you can get help from the Pa. Game Commission to kill deer that are a threat to your seedlings or obtain a free fence to keep deer away from your seedlings. Over the years we have lost more trees to mice than any other animal. Put rat baits out on a regular basis. Over the years we have lost more seedlings and plants to mice than any other culprit including deer and rabbitts combined. Unexpected Freezer Outage

Did you have any power problems at your house? Did you notice if your refrigerator broke last night? Are you concerned about the food that was in your freezer being okay?

Not to worry - there are some simple guidelines to food safety in such a situation.

If the food has been completely thawed or even warmed to room temperature, throw it away. If your food has been setting out for more than a couple of hours, it needs to be thrown out.

Largely thawed food that is still cold should be cooked immediately. Foods that have been cooked may then be consumed or refrigerated for later use.

If the food still has ice crystals on it, you may refreeze it. If you do not have a freezer available, throw it in a cooler and add dry ice. You will not have the longevity that a normal freezer offers, and will need to cook these items.

You can immediately get rid of items that have signs of freezer burn.

It’s not possible to prevent the occurrence of unexpected power interruptions due to weather or accidents, but it is possible to react properly in such cases.
If your current refrigerator or freezer isn’t working like it should, your best bet is to purchase a new one. If you have the space, you should certainly consider a large American Style fridge freezer. Any kitchen will be much better by having this. This site contains a wide range of American made fridges and freezers, aiming to serve you better.

Later Can Sometimes Be Better

Filed under: House Of Search Engine Optimization, Web Infos — @ 3:23 am

I have been working on the internet for a long time and I am struggling to find ways to make more money through my sites. I have been reading about the ppc search engine internet marketing and I think that I will wait a little while longer before I start using it. I say this because there are only a few major search engines that are really thriving on this technique and I am sure that it is just a matter of time before a lone startup company will introduce a new way of marketing that will generate a change web wide.

I am always curious to know the ways to make my ppc search engine internet marketing campaign more effective. I feel like I am following all the rules and I am making a lot of money through PPC but I like to stay on top of the changes. If too many changes come down the pipeline and I have not been adhering to them on a constant basis then I am afraid my campaign will become obsolete. With constant tweaking of my web pages I have been able to stay fresh and receive constant traffic to my sites which produces me more money.
